At Rakuten Kobo we gladly accept the use of AI narration, especially in the midst of the improving technologies in AI vocal generators we’ve seen in recent years. If you do use AI narration for your audiobook, please list your contributor as one of the following:
- Synthesised voice - male
- Synthesised voice - female
- Synthesised voice - unspecified
- Synthesised voice - based on real voice actor
Submit one of these options with the List 17 contributor code role type E07 - Read By.
In addition to this information included in the contributor field, we ask that you also clearly state the use of AI narrator in the synopsis/description field. For example:
This audiobook is read by a digital voice.
AI Authoring:
In regards to AI Authoring, Rakuten Kobo reserves the right to reject content that is wholly or partially created by digital text-generation algorithms.
